03:27 PM ET 01.09 | Knee surgery was performed on Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III on Wednesday morning to repair a torn LCL and reconstruct an ACL. In a statement Dr. James Andrews says he is now hopeful that the young star will not miss any playing time from the injury that was worsened during a playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks: "Robert Griffin III had successful knee surgery early this morning. He had a direct repair of his LCL and a re-do of his previous ACL reconstruction. We expect a full recovery and it is everybody's hope and belief that due to Robert's high motivation, he will be ready for the 2013 season."

And, if all goes according to Dr. Andrews's plan, RG-III will be back for another knee repair in late 2013.

I'd be worried about this too. Let him heal properly, whatever the length of time ends up being.
