06:13 PM ET 01.09 | Miami Dolphins assistant general manager Brian Gaine is expected to interview with the New York Jets for New York's vacant general manager position, according to the NFL Network's Albert Breer. The Jets fired general manager Mike Tannenbaum nine days ago, after the Jets finished the regular season with a 6-10 record. Gaine was promoted by Miami in June 2012 to the position of assistant general manager. Prior to the promotion, Gaine served as director of player personnel. Gaine interviewed last offseason for the St. Louis Rams' general manager job, but did not receive an offer from the Rams.

Rex needs serious help on the offensive side of the ball so he can focus on the defense. He needs a good talent evaluator as GM and a very good OC he can give autonomy.
