08:04 PM ET 01.09 | Earlier this month, Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd raised some doubt as to whether or not he'd enter the 2013 NFL Draft his April. After some consideration, Boyd has announced that he will return to Clemson for his senior season in an attempt to boost his draft stock and make a run at winning a Heisman Trophy. Really, this is the best move Boyd could have made. Had he entered the draft, scouts were projecting him as a late second to early third-round choice at best. Boyd said he was committed to trying to help bring an ACC title to Clemson and win a Heisman Trophy, and it would have taken a premium projection to get him to bolt. That projection never came, so Boyd is returning.

At least Boyd is honest. He's not staying to complete his college experience, augment his education, pad his knowledge and credentials for lafe after football. Nope. He's staying as a strategic move to boost his draft stock and potential earnings from a pro career.
