Top secret Tim Tebow package finally revealed

08:13 PM ET 01.09 | It's not nearly as dirty as it sounds. When the New York Jets acquired Tim Tebow from the Denver Broncos last offseason, they smirked and giggled about a supposed "secret plan" they had in terms of how they planned on using him. As it turns out, we either never saw that plan or the plan was really, really stupid. However USA Today is reporting that what the Jets really wanted to do with Tebow, was use him as the one thing everyone said he should be: a running back. The revelation of this "master" plan answers the question as to why Tebow was passed up on the depth chart and Greg McElroy was started instead. The Jets never planned on using Tebow as a quarterback, something they apparently didn't tell him as he was shocked to have been passed up as the starter. This almost certainly means Tebow is on his way out in New York, as whoever the new offensive coordinator ends up being, he likely will trim the "Tebow Tailback" package out of the playbook

Yup.
Master plan my foot. Who was the brilliant architect of this 'plan'? One of the recently exiting coaches, or Rex Ryan's?
Tim Tebow definitely needs to go elsewhere. Will they let him?

If the plan was to play him at RB, why didn't they ever put him on the field at that position? The TRUTH is that the signed him to sell jerseys...that's it...and any team that signs him next will be doing it for the SAME reason...NO ONE wants tebow actually playing on their team...

I see the Jets still have their "anonimous spokesperson" in the locker-room.

He doesn't really get kicked around by the media...the media just reports on all of the fans he gets kicked around by...and when I say ALL of the fans, I mean ALL of them...if you don't say negative things about the way Tebow plays football, you don't know football and can't really call yourself a "fan"

Everyone has an opinion on Tebow as a football player and a person. But the fact is that the Jets wronged that kid this year, and in doing so added to the disaster that was their season. Tebow shut his mouth and played hard every day. There is no doubt that the Jets will release him this offseason. I hope he gets a legitimate chance somewhere else.

Wow, well that is certainly a totally objective statement

Hmm. How about this: The Jets trade Tebow + 2013, 2014, and 2015 draft picks to the 'Skins for RG III. Or, don't and say they did?

Agreed. Fact is as a football player he was never given a chance to even see if he could help that team. And they definitely needed help. As a person, he makes people uncomfortable because his beliefs are well known. It's the writers and announcers who perpetuate that. I've never seen or heard Tebow do anything in a religious way that a hundred other NFL players don't do. If he lands on a team that actually wants him, other than to sell tickets, he might contribute. I hope so.

Really, they should release him at least give him a chance to catch on with some other team

After doing everything they possibly could to damage him, they'll likely be asking for too much, trade-wise.

Word at one point was they were agreeing to his request to be released. The new owner in Jax wants Tebow to come compete for their starting job.

The Jest put the fun in "dysfunctional." Well, it's fun watching them, anyway. From a schadenfreude point of view.

Keep on sugarcoating the truth . There was no way they were going to let Tebow play and risk the possibility of him outperforming Sanchez which would of made Rex and The Jets organization look like complete idiots for not putting him in earlier in the season.
