LSU loses 10 underclassmen to NFL Draft

02:20 AM ET 01.10 | The Alabama Crimson Tide are riding high, kings of the SEC and of college football once again. But while their rivals in Louisiana would like to change that, they'll have a rough time doing so next year with the team they'll be left with. As we approach the deadline for underclassmen to declare for this April's NFL Draft, LSU has lost a total of 10 underclassman who have decided to skip their last year of eligibility to make the jump to the NFL Draft. Bennie Logan joins Mingo and Montgomery off of the defensive line, Spencer Ware and Michael Ford will leave the Tigers backfield and defensive backs Eric Reid and Tharold Simon will leave LSU's secondary. Not to mention, any hope of having Tyrann Mathieu return after being kicked off the team disappeared as he has declared for the NFL draft as well.

Makes one think they have lost confidence in the HC and OC. Well I agree, so I'm throwing my hat in the ring also, and declaring to go to the nfl. I know how to hold a clipboard so I should be a high round draft choice. Or, is it low round draft choice. Either way, **** the nfl.

Not saying the sky is falling, but 10 (11 if you count TM7) guys missing from your senior class is a lot to lose. These aren't the normal couldn't cut it, went somewhere else attrition guys. These guys all think their good enough to play Sundays. I'm sure there is plenty of talent left on the roster, but c'mon man, it's got to hurt.

I'd love to see LSU avg 30+ PPG and <20 PA in 2013. That would make the UC's going pro a non-story.

So much for "student"-athletes at LSU.
The NFL should be forced to establish a minor league like MLB, and those who wish to get paid can play there, real student athletes would compete in the college ranks.
