The Niners need him, but not if he's trying to play with one good arm. Playing just to be out there if you can't be effective has no upside. Right, RGIII?

RGIII was effective until he really got hurt. The Skins were up 14-0. They wouldn't have been leading if the backup QB started. They drafted Griffin to get them to the playoffs so there was no sense in benching him. Even at 80% he was still better than his backup. If Justin Smith with one arm is better than his backup he should play.

This is where LT turns to the kids and says "Remember kids, don't smoke crack". NO starter is so good that they are better injured than their healthy backup...

Cowboys thought an injured Demarcus Ware might be effective against the skins in the last game of the season....big time FAIL...just about any warm body in his place would have done better...

If you saw RGIII hobbling around in the second half and seriously thought Cousins couldn't be more effective, that pretty much invalidates anything else you have to say.

Maybe. Since Justin Smith went down, Aldon Smith hasn't had a sack. They'll need a pass rush to keep that GB offense in check, especially now that Rodgers has all of his receivers back. That GB line keeping Rodgers clean is a big key to the game.

That seems short sighted. You draft a blue chip player with the idea he'll help you get many wins over his career. Why would anyone burn a player and risk losing them forever just to get ANY particular win, including the Super Bowl? This is a guy with a lot of great plays to come. Sit him down. If it's not to be this year it's not to be. Future looks pretty bright in San Francisco right now. Why screw that up?

By the way, interns, can we PLEASE get a different Harbaugh shot? It always feels like a freakin Crest Toothpaste ad when we get Niner threads. I know the bosses here are tightwads, but we'll take anything. Clearly.
