07:56 AM ET 01.10 | The Beard will soon make another kind of important walk to the mound. [Free agent] Brian Wilson has completed his long-toss program and should begin throwing off a mound soon as he bids to return from his second "Tommy John" surgery. He continues to work out under the Giants' supervision. It's standard procedure for a free agent to rehab with his old team, with which he incurred the injury. It's also good for the the Giants to have a true sense of Wilson's progress because they still have some interest in re-signing him. The Giants' stance has not changed. They are still willing to discuss a contract with Wilson with a low base salary and big incentives if he is healthy, but the Giants also recognize that Wilson might get offers with greater guarantees.

Hopefully, they've corrected whatever problem in his mechanics that have caused him to blow out that elbow twice. Otherwise, he's a ticking time bomb even if he can come back.

He would be smart to sign a 1 Year Deal, if he's back to being his old self, he'll make it up next year! Sign with a Team like Houston or da Mets!!!

The Tigers should take a look at him. Going with Rondon a rookie who can throw 103 mph is too risky.

It could been a 'R' instead of the 'T'.

Exactly right. Trouble is nobody wants to correct a guy that's A) made it this far and B) was highly successful. It would almost have to come as Wilson's idea first I think.

Brian Wilson is basically a poor mans version of what happened with Gagne and the Dodgers . Extremely Dominant closer / fan favorite but once that Elbow blows out >> GAME OVER . I guarantee we will never here about this guy again .

Yeah, well lack of significant interest elsewhere probably softened his stance.
Hope the guy does come around, but I can't see him again becoming the Giants closer, given the job done by Romo last year.
