07:09 PM ET 01.10 | Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians is interested in following Tom Telesco from Indianapolis to San Diego. The Chargers hired Telesco as their new general manager on Wednesday and Arians said he'd be interested in San Diego's vacant head coaching position now that Telesco is there. Arians appeared on The Mighty 1090 in San Diego to discuss his health and future head coaching opportunities. He doesn't have an interview set up at the moment but expressed interest in the Chargers opening. When asked if he'd be interested, Arians said, "I would be now that Tommy's there. I think so much of [the] success that teams have are great relationships between general manager and head coach." Telesco was the vice president of football operations in Indy in 2012.

Y'know what? The Chuck Pagano story is feel-good and all, but looking beyond that, Bruce Arians is the guy that took a dead-last, first-pick-in-the-draft team to the playoffs in one season. With all due credit to Andrew Luck and the play of the entire team, even the cheerleaders who shaved their heads, what's going to happen to this team next year with Arians coaching elsewhere?

Can a fill-in guy win Coach of the Year?

There's no reason he shouldn't. I don't think there was a more high-profile coaching effort this season, under the circumstances.

It'd also be kind of sticky for him to go back to working under Pagano. I'm sure they're both professional enough that it wouldn't affect the quality of their effort, but at the same time, it would have to suck just a little bit to know that a year before BA was running the show, and now he has to run all his (proven to be successful) ideas by someone else first.

This fill-in guy should. And the Charger job looks like a no-brainer for Arians. SD would be crazy not to give him a shot. Then again, look how long they let Smith and Turner hang around. Clearly they are crazy.

With Rivers, the ball will be flying all over the place anyway. Randomly.
