08:06 AM ET 01.11 | As of Tuesday, Alex Anzalone was prepared to arrive in South Bend this coming weekend, but he's changed his mind. [Anzalone] has decommitted from the program in favor of the Florida Gators. The linebacker from Wyomissing, Pa., confirmed the news to the South Bend Tribune on Thursday with a text message. ... Anzalone declined to explain why he made the switch, but his decision came in the wake of Brian Kelly's interview with the Philadelphia Eagles becoming public knowledge. ... Anzalone's defection not only serves as a visual crack to the 2013 Irish recruiting class, but also marks the loss of a top talent. He ranks in the top 50 players nationally on both Rivals.com and 247Sports.com.

4.73 40 time. I'm not completely sold on how good he is.

I'd like that, even though the subject matter would by necessity change (likely, more than once).

Of course it gets more attention. Kelly gives you guys the best season in the last 10/15 years. In the NCG, and out of laughingstock status (for a program of domer history). You don't expect that to be a headline??? A little sensitive on this one dontcha think???

Well, let's kind of look at it objectively, and not saying you don't. He is listed at 238 and runs a 4.73.
Dont'a Hightower was 265 at the combines and ran a 4.68 40.
If Anzalone gains weight, do we think he'll be faster or slower? Odds are he will be slower. Maybe his playing weight will be 238, though.

His dad sucks at being a Doctor in Reading AKA Salvatore Anzalone. This kid is now a proven quitter, and will not see the playing field

I think it's because the two **** in the AM (Mike and Mike) have been talking about ND football nonstop for 3 months so ESPN believes it's a story. BTW, for every random LB from East Jesus that changes his mind and goes elsewhere, there will be another that decides last minute to attend ND.

JK, you stated this yesterday, and I'm not sure where you are going with it?? A 4.73 40 time isn't too bad for a kid 6'3" and 230 Lbs. Don't forget he is a Linebacker and he won't be chasing any fast Running backs down from behind anyway!!!

LOL, LK will most likely be available after the 2013 season!!! :-)

Let's see how the kid develops before trashing him, shall we? The S&C coach should have some positive effects, I say let's re-evaluate in a year or two.
THEN we can process him.
