Elias put off by teammate's KHL plan

08:10 AM ET 01.11 | Nearly every member of the Devils took the high road when asked about Ilya Kovalchuk's plan to miss the start of training camp for the KHL All-Star Game. One Devil did think it would be a big deal, however, if Kovalchuk doesn't report for training camp Sunday with the rest of his Devils' teammates. "It is," longtime Devils forward Patrik Elias said. "We're all supposed to report on Sunday, right?" Players will likely have some kind of window for reporting to camp after the CBA is ratified, but Elias didn't think it would be right for Kovalchuk to miss the start of camp to play in the KHL All-Star Game, unless he has permission from the Devils, as Pavel Datsyuk received permission from the Detroit Red Wings to play in the all-star game.

Gotta laugh though, good ol' Murphy's Law will push that both Kovalchuk and Datsyuk get injured in the KHL All-Star Game...

playing in an all-star game is more important than working on the systems and skating with the club that pays you 100 million dollars. Wow. I have to add that I'm incredibly surprised that Datsyuk will be attending the all-star game as well. Poor form.
