06:44 PM ET 01.11 | According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Jacksonville Jaguars plan to interview the team's defensive coordinator and assistant head coach, Mel Tucker, for the open head coach position that was left empty when the team fired Mike Mularkey. Tucker has been the team's defensive coordinator since he was hired in 2009 and was given the title of assistant head coach before the 2012 season. The Jaguars struggled on both sides of the ball in 2012, but in 2011 he coached the defense to become the No. 6 unit in the league. He has previously been the defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach with the Browns and has never held a head coach position, except when he was named the interim head coach in 2011 for the final five games of the season, in which the team went 2-3.
