How the Mets could get Justin Upton

12:32 AM ET 01.12 | After years of flirting with the idea, the Arizona Diamondbacks seem intent to trade outfielder Justin Upton. The only reason they haven't is because of his rejection of a deal with the Seattle Mariners. Now, we know what the market is for the young All-Star, and we know Arizona's prepared to give him up. So what if, say, the Mets ended up calling Diamondbacks GM Kevin Towers? What would they have to give up to get Upton, and would they be willing to pay that price?

Hard to believe he would want to play for the Mets.

Hard to believe the Mets have the money to pay for him. They just fire sale'd the most affordable Cy Young Award winner in history.

he' s a good player ...but I wouldn't mortgage the future for him.....

that's easy to answer, as far as his team selection, the jays aren't part of them, the yankees aren't a part of them, but the mets also could be excluded by Upton justin though,,,

They sure did. I guess they were looking to "sell high."

Ladies and Gentlemen - don't smoke crack.

Again, his 4 team no-trade list is: Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago Cubs and Seattle Mariners. This thread is about the New York Mets...not the Blue Jays. The list is set, he can't change the list as he sees fit.

Two things the Mets need to keep rebuilding their farm system and realize even if they get Upton he would not put them in a position this year to make the playoffs.

The Mets should pass on Upton, unless they get him real cheap!
