09:31 AM ET 01.12 | The Eagles announced that they will meet with Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden on Monday. Gruden will also interview with the Chargers for their head-coaching job, NFL Network's Albert Breer reports. Gruden, 45, just wrapped up his second year as offensive coordinator for the Bengals. He has overseen the development of second-year players Andy Dalton and A.J. Green, both of whom reached the Pro Bowl in their rookie years. Gruden interviewed for the Arizona Cardinals' head coaching job on Thursday. This season, the Bengals put up 223.6 passing yards per game, as well as 109.1 yards per game on the ground. Green was once again named to the Pro Bowl, but perhaps most importantly, the Bengals have made the playoffs in both years with Gruden.

Both are good candidates. Maybe Jay can take his brother with him to San Diego so I don't have to listen to his "Look at this guy; this guy's a football player. I just love the way he does blah blah blah" on ESPN.

I can't think of any particular play call that stood out... just simply that the offense looked stagnant and, well, out-coached.

My guess is the only thing they see is the name "Gruden".

Kind of like how the TV analysts used to rave about Brian Schottenheimer when he O-Coordinated for the Jets, even though the Jets offense was lucky to put 7 points on the board all game.

I think he has earned that distinction. Coach Whiz would be a good plan B.
