10:20 AM ET 01.12 | If Brian Kelly and his camp are using an NFL flirtation as a bargaining ploy, they may be pushing it to the absolute brink. The Notre Dame coach interviewed with the Eagles on Tuesday and has a second meeting with the team set for this weekend, according to a published report. Meanwhile, Kelly continued to confer with NFL people about what it's like to coach at that level, a league source said early Saturday. Kelly was on vacation the past few days -- though it was not believed to be a European jaunt, as multiple outlets have reported -- and the New York Daily News reported that "the Eagles and Kelly have agreed to revisit talks when he returns this weekend." Comcast SportsNet Chicago reported that Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie's private jet is in Chicago, though no specific reason was given. But the NFL Network's Albert Breer may have quashed the notion of a Kelly meeting by reporting the Eagles will interview Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley on Saturday in Atlanta.

I still find it humorous that all the yap out of the South Florida beat writers before the BCS NCG was about "Saban to the Browns" rumors. Seems like they were focused on the wrong coach in the game.

In two years Chip Kelly, Brian Kelly and Nick Saban will all be coaching in the NFL. The question is whether they'll be able to do what Pete Carroll has done in Seattle (or whether they'll fail like Steve Spurrier).

He'd be stupid to go to the NFL. He will fail miserably, and Philly fans will run him out of town within a season or two.

Hey Joe K, is this the 5th or 6th year in a row Saban is supposed to be coaching in the pros?

I think he needs more time before the NFL. If he does decide to go there are others in the wings.

Carroll hasn't won a super bowl as of yet, and let us not forget his stint with the Pats...

Yup, you don't get much time to prove yourself in the NFL these days. I'm sure he could come back to college if it didn't work out, of course not to ND...but I'd be surprised to see him go. He's not ready for the NFL, it's a totally different animal and he seems like more of a college leader then of professionals.
