09:31 AM ET 01.13 | Some in the NFL community are predicting the draft stock of West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith will drop between now and April as teams learn more and more about how Smith is wired. Smith has the physical ability to be a first round pick, but NFL teams are wondering if he has the complete package. "He needs to have a strong interview," one front office man said. "And I don't think he will."

Not a strong draft for QBs this year, although someone might find a gem in Barkley or Jones.

When things go bad he is a pouter and a pin head. Stay away from him.

The gem: Ryan Nassib. second round most likely, but pro style offense taught to him by Marrone who was the OC for the Saints that installed it there under Payton. He can make the throws required, that 10yard out pattern that separates QBs.

Your endorsement just shot the kid into the first round, 50.

So Philip Rivers/Jay Cutler 2.0?

You mean there's an aptitude test? Who knew?

Ask Ryan Leaf, VY and Leinart, they will tell you all about this "aptitude test".

SM, I agree, but I don't see either Barkley or Jones going until the 2/3 round. But again the Broncos did take Tebow in the 1st round!!!! Hey, how about those Broncos'????? :-)

Teams can get very good QBs after the first round.

Two guys playing today (Brady, Wilson) prove that.

Also, Schaub is okay. He was a late-round pick.

See, now that's a reason.

The top QB on the board always goes earlier than he should.

Any QB going in the first round this year is going earlier than he should.

Damn, OT, that was a knife in my heart last night. Stupid Broncos secondary. How does the safety not understand the concept of "Nobody gets behind you"?

January 13, 2013  11:23 AM ET

SM, I was thinking the exact same thing. As a DB, you just don't let a WR get behind you, if nothing else take the penalty and hold the guy, but never let the WR get behind you with seconds to go and your team leading by 7!!!
