10:03 AM ET 01.13 | Mark Cuban vows that this season is not lost. If anybody in the organization believes it is, he's got a message, along with telling people that there is a 100 percent chance the Mavericks will attempt to pull off a trade before the Feb. 21 deadline. "We are making progress and getting better," Cuban said. "No one in the locker room has given up, that I can tell. And if I find anybody that's given up on this season, I'll kick them to the curb faster than I can lift a boot. Because that's just not the way we do it." In addition, Cuban was clear that Dirk Nowitzki is a prime candidate to finish his career in Dallas. The owner assured everybody one last time that there is zero chance the best player in franchise history will get traded. Not so everybody else, however. "There's a 100 percent chance that we're going to look to do something," he said of making moves before the trade deadline. "[But] I told Dirk we're not trading him. He was happy. I made it clear to him that we are in this through thick and thin. So there's no way that I'd trade him, no matter what."

It seems Cuban had the golden touch until he won the NBA championships. Now he has become just another mingling owner making the wrong decisions. He just needs to look down the road to see what he's becoming.

No doubt. It would be a shame if they do it for cost cutting measures.

Signs of the times. New CBA put a cap yet seat prices keep going up year after year.

There will be teams that wont give a damn about the salary cap. Nothing is going to change that short of a hard cap.

For those that do - its all a matter of choosing wisely. So far, Cubes hasnt hit on his plan and i dont know that this next offseason will be any different. So he and Nelson had better draft well and hit on quality in the FA market.

And - Dirk isnt going anywhere.

Whatever Cuban does he won't win another championship for quite awhile if ever again.
He had all the pieces and blew that team. Dirk is older and even if he land the right pieces it might be too late.
Mavs fans are mad beyond belief and the only thing they talk about lately is the Lakers. LMAO

What did Cuban do wrong?

Like Nowitzki has said: If you sign old guys and pay them a lot and they decline fast all of a sudden you are stuck with them, you can't move them, so 1. you got a bad team and 2. you will be feeling this for a while.

Lets see how this season pans out and make a decision. Better to experience the short pain than not be able to move for years.

Cuban has cap space and this year and the following are the years with the best Free Agents out there. How can he do any wrong?
