11:12 AM ET 01.13 | Rangers 2B Ian Kinsler acknowledged Saturday that he did express second thoughts to the front office about moving off second base, a move that would have more easily facilitated the ascent of top prospect Jurickson Profar to the major leagues. When first approached by the Rangers in mid-December about moving to first base, Kinsler agreed. After taking a week or so to consider the move, he had other thoughts. "Initially, you just get wrapped up in trying to win and doing whatever is best for the team," Kinsler said. "But, after thinking about it, in my opinion, second base is where I can do the best to help the team. I didn't initially want to be resistant to a move that somebody had thought was the best thing for the team. -- I don't think there was ever a line in the sand." The decision by Kinsler and the Rangers likely sends Profar to Triple-A Round Rock to open the season and should give the Rangers more time to sort out their options. If things go well for the Rangers, it could simply delay Profar's return to the majors.

You would best help the team by cutting down on the errors...
And - by cutting down on getting picked off on the base paths.

either play Profar in the majors or trade him together with OLT for Justin upton, a player WHO would help better the rangers offense,,,

If the Rangers want Kinsler at first or in the OF, tell him. If he doesn't like it, put Profar at second and trade Kinsler wherever.
You have to believe that Profar is too young and not quite ready, thus the Rangers are allowing Kinsler to stay at second. When Profar is ready, they'll play hardball...like they did with Young.

Apparently Kinsler forgot WHO its in charge in texas team, and he can't block any prospect from playing his way up to ther majors, should profar get a slim opportunity to play in the big team??
and if profar proves to be a top competetor? kinsler could end up been a mere utility player!!!
