Ravens LB rips New England's 'gimmick' offense

07:58 AM ET 01.14 | Before the Patriots had even advanced, Brendon Ayanbadejo turned up the heat on Baltimore-New England. Ayanbadejo, who has spent the last five seasons with Baltimore, lashed out at the Patriots for what he calls a "gimmick" offense. He said that it's something he can't respect, and he even compared the Pats' no-huddle, hurry-up approach to a cheap shot before a fight. It looked briefly like Ayanbadejo might save himself by saying that the Patriots' offense is good enough to be successful without such a gameplan, but any sliver of goodwill he might have gained among Pats fans with that comment quickly vanished when he started making references to Spygate and New England's 18-1 season.

Bad idea...does the Ayanbadejo even see the field? Quote's already up on the bulletin board in New England.

January 14, 2013  08:19 AM ET

Wow, looks like the Patriots are already in this guys head.

January 14, 2013  08:24 AM ET

This coming from a guy that nobody even has a picture of? A stealth linebacker?

January 14, 2013  08:24 AM ET

ayanbadejo is the guy who deednt stay in his lane on tha kick return that trindon holliday took to tha house

January 14, 2013  08:27 AM ET

Why do sports figures never learn that providing bulletin board material is just dumb?

Niners-Pats SB. Gonna be wild.

January 14, 2013  08:27 AM ET

Don't you know somebody told him to shut his pie hole.

Yup.

Ravens have to do it on the Field not on the back pages!!!!

January 14, 2013  08:48 AM ET

He may not respect the Pats' offense, but he better prepare for it.

January 14, 2013  09:11 AM ET

As a Ravens fan, he needs to shut his mouth and focus more on his tackling to prevent another return TD and why the hell do they have Ray Lewis picture instead of the idiot?!!!

Just goes to show that any fool can have a twitter account.

Highest powered offense in football for some years now and this no-name schmuck is mocking it before a big playoff game???? Man, they grow em real dumb where he's from.

Personally, I've been hoping for this game since the end of their first meeting back in September. The Raisins are a low class, cheap shot bunch and if they come up to Foxboro thinking they are going to intimidate the Pats, they are going to get run out of the building.

"Raisins are a low class cheap shot bunch?" Seriously?!! Didn't your QB starts all the trash talking for your team and gets embarrassed? I.E - game against the Seahawks between him and Sherman.

Didn't they already do that once this year? Not that I pay much attention to either team but I have a vague memory that the Ravens, and the 9ers both beat the Pats this year, guess they can be glad that the Seahawks at least are out of the tournament
