Nash: Howard, not Kobe, L.A.'s anchor

08:03 AM ET 01.14 | "The" Dwight Howard was back, and, not coincidentally, the Lakers won on Sunday. Going forward, do they know how often they'll get this version of Howard? And how often will Howard get what he wants and needs from the Lakers? ... Howard returned to action Sunday after missing the previous three games because of torn cartilage in his right shoulder. He put up Dwight Howard-type numbers in an easy 113-93 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers: 22 points and 14 rebounds. "He was a great presence for us, good energy," Steve Nash said. Then Nash dropped one of the strongest proclamations made to the media in the Lakers locker room this season: "You know, he's the anchor of the team. When he plays with energy, plays hard defensively, we're a different team."

Yeah just feed the ball to Howard, he'll beast himself to the basket and score.
Nash also has to work his magic, I'm not impressed by him to be honest.
Main scorer: Howard
If Howard gets doubled: pass it to 1. Kobe 2. Nash 3. Metta

Great game by Howard. But the LA defense still very bad. Tons of turnovers and easy baskets. Truth is Cleveland is so bad that they never really posed a threat to begin with.
Earl Clark is balling. He is good, hopefully can sustain his play moving forward.

You said that just to say "ball hog Kobe...blah blah blah...", but maybe you haven't noticed a few things. Sometimes Howard has a hard time establishing a good post game against sometimes weaker centers or turns the ball over more than anyone when he has the ball. The other thing is that he cannot shoot free throws, so the easiest way to eliminate his offense is to send him to the line. So that is supposed to be a consistent approach to playing offense? How about pick and roll or pick and pop situations? If you actually watch the game and see it for what it really is, instead of just saying "Dumbtoni...blah blah....Kobe the ballhog", then maybe you might see some other issues with your logic. DH is not a prototypical back to the basket post player. He is an excellent lob catcher, great when it's easy buckets when he is camping in the paint, and great with getting to open spaces from picks. The WEAKEST part of his game is playing with his back to the basket. And that is why he does not see great success from what you are suggesting. The Lakers on offense is NOT the problem. It's their defense....but....keep it going...."Dumbtoni...blah blah...Kobe the ballhog...blah". Now if you said Kobe's defense is slipping....blah blah....Dumbtoni....then it might have been worth a discussion....

Ice cream in LA sucks. I wouldn't give two plug nickels for the LA Symphony.

I don't think LA played that great. Too many TO's and defense mistakes.
Maybe these few games off helped Howard's back. He seemed healthier and with more energy.
LA doesn't want to lose Howard. Kobe wants him to stay despite what Guam might say. lol

Good for you.
He never watches the games, just the ESPN highlights. No wonder.
If LA loses it is Kobe's fault for not trusting and sharing the ball, if LA wins then finally Kobe did these two things. So predictable from him. lol
