01:20 PM ET 01.14 | The Patriots defeated the Texans 41-28 on Sunday evening, remaining in control the majority of the way. Once again Tom Brady led his squad to another postseason victory, something New England fans have grown accustomed over the past decade, but this win was special. After besting Houston, Brady became the all-time leader in playoff wins for a quarterback, breaking his tie with Joe Montana. Brady now sits on 17 postseason wins in his illustrious NFL career, his first dating back to 2001.

That number will be growing too. He has a couple of years yet to add to it..

What QB doesn't play under a "system?" Some guys are so jealous they just can't give the greatest QB in playoff history his due...

Easy big fella. I've been a Pats fan since the days of Plunkett to Vataha. I was just beating the haters to the punch.

Every QB plays under a system, but some systems are better than others. You can't deny the fact the Belichick runs a better system than most, if not all. It made Matt Cassel look like a star QB which subsequently made him $62.7 million richer. With that said, Brady is still an all-time great and I take nothing away from him. It's not his fault that he plays for a great franchise and great coach. In many ways he's like Montana, who also benefited in a great system under another legendary coach in Bill Walsh.

When it's all said and done Tom Brady might be considered the greatest quarterback to play the game, but I'll tell you this about Montana, after his team The Niners kissed him off, he took a Kanas City Team into The Playoffs twice, once into The AFC Championship Game, the only system he used was The Montana System, not bad for a man who was told he was washed up! In the mean time Mr Brady breathing down his neck!!!

He's a system QB all right. The kind of system where the Quarterback throws with pin point accuracy. Where they don't usually huddle because the offensive coordinator is playing Quarterback. Where opposing defenses don't generally touch him because he makes his reads so quickly and gets the ball out in three seconds or less. The kind of system that has interchangeable parts at wide receiver, tight end and running back but it doesn't really matter because the defense is so caught up trying to stop what the "system QB" is doing. A system QB who makes throws that two other QBs in the league can make and still works his butt off to get better every day. He's a "system" QB all right, a system of sustained excellence.

In my book Brady will never surpass Montana as the greatest by the sheer fact that he's already lost 2 Super Bowls while Montana is 4-0.
That "Montana" system he used in KC clearly wasn't good enough to win the SB. To say Montana never used any system other than his own is clearly ignorant. Bill Walsh's West Coast Offense is one of the greatest offensive systems ever invented and teams today still use variations of that system.

You forgot QB in the interchangeable part, where you can substitute Matt Cassell for Tom Brady and the team still wins 11 games.

I think its time we finally put the whole Peyton vs Brady debate to bed. Results and titles speak for themselves. One finds ways to win on the biggest stages more often than not, the other simply doesn't.

Where Tom's value becomes priceless isn't in the regular season sir....where did that team without Brady end up in the postseason? If Cassel had won a title (or even an AFC championship) your argument would be somewhat reasonable.

Brady's a first ballot HOFer for certain. It's amazing to me that he has accomplished what he has without having a star wide receiver year after year like Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison etc. I wonder what he would have been able to do with a guy like Rice.

Your comment while debatable is very valid and makes the most sense of any one taking away from Brady's individual talent and poise. Bill plays chess and creates the perfect environment for Tom to be productive. Which is what every coaching staff should be doing.

Ironically, it's when he didn't have those star receivers that he won those 3 Super Bowls. He hasn't won since he's had Wes Welker, Randy Moss, and the two stud TE's.

I'm pretty sure Cassel never got the opportunity. If I remembered correctly they missed the playoffs that year despite winning 11 games. So we'll never know the answer to that since Cassel never got he chance to show how far he could take the team.

Please understand that I readily admit that Tom Brady is one of the best QBs of all time. It's just that there is a natural predisposition to say that today's guy is the absolute best. That is not fair to the greats that came before Brady (Montana, Unitas etc.) And one day there will be a new QB who will be the "best" and that won't be fair to Brady.
