03:43 PM ET 01.14 | Texas Longhorns quarterback Case McCoy and linebacker Jordan Hicks were suspended for the team's Alamo Bowl appearance for a violation of team rules, but the two players have been reinstated to the team, head coach Mack Brown announced Sunday night in a statement. "Obviously when you break team rules there's a certain amount of trust that has been broken, and that will be addressed with further discipline," Brown said. "That discipline will be handled within the team." On Dec. 28, the San Antonio Police Department said that two unnamed Longhorns players were involved in a sexual assault investigation. Immediately following the news, Brown sent McCoy and Hicks home. According to Hicks' attorney, no charges have been filed against Hicks or McCoy for the case. Hicks' attorney, Perry Minton, even went as far as to say the case was closed, but the San Antonio Police Department says the case is still open and ongoing.

Indeed. The "violation of team rules" was probably a convenient out for UT for the bowl game ("curfew violation"). the San Antonio Police have seven months to figure it out before it's an issue for further player suspensions.
