UFC targeting Henderson vs. Melendez at UFC on Fox 7

03:35 PM ET 01.14 | Mixed martial arts fans have been hoping to see a matchup in the octagon between UFC lightweight champion and the Strikeforce title holder Gilbert Melendez and they may be getting their wish. Reports indicate that UFC officials are targeting the UFC on FOX 7 event in San Jose, Calif. at the HP Pavilion for the potential matchup. There are potential roadblocks that stand in the way of a Henderson vs. Melendez title match, but it is not clear what those roadblocks could be. It could be a matter of money or ironing out the final details in Melendez's UFC contract, but if the organization truly wants to put on this fight for the fans they will find a way to get it done.
