Global warming 'like a torture chamber' in Miami

07:52 AM ET 01.15 | The Dolphins are proposing a $400 million overhaul to Sun Life Stadium, one that goes well beyond video screens and sound systems. [Most dramatically], the stadium would have an open-air roof to shield fans from the elements. "There's this thing called global warming," team owner Stephen Ross said during a meeting with The Miami Herald's editorial board on Monday, and added "it's like a torture chamber for Dolphins fans." The proposed stadium would not be air-conditioned, however. It would either rely on the natural breeze blowing between the top of the stadium and the futuristic canopy (which would sit like an umbrella on four stands), or install circulating fans.

I thought watching the Dolphins was torture.
I guess the thinking is if they improve the stadium then the fans will fill the seats, just like the Marlins are filling up their new stadium.

I was thinking the same thing - image you work in the sales department - your pay, i assume, is at least tied 50% to what you sell. The head of the organization compares what he is paying you to sell to a "torture chamber" - thanks Stephie - the crappy product wasn't hard enough to sell.....

The polar caps are melting, and glaciers are receeding. 2012 globally and nationally was the warmest year on record.
Global warming is real. What is in question is how much of the problem is due to natural causes, both cyclical and episodic, and how much is caused by greenhouse gasses emitted by man-made sources.
The only thing we know for certain is that we aren't helping the situation.
