Te'o still a top 10 pick?

08:06 AM ET 01.15 | Yes, his body and his pride took a hit during the BCS National Championship Game. But Notre Dame All-America middle linebacker Manti Te'o's NFL draft stock didn't take a similar hit. Most draft analysts only dropped him subtly in their post-Alabama game projections, if at all. ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. has Te'o as the No. 6 overall prospect on his big board after peaking at No. 2. "He has a really high floor, and evaluators know it," Kiper wrote. Scouts Inc. has him as the No. 7 prospect in the draft. Wright of draftcountdown.com has him No. 2, though projects him lower in his mock draft because of positional value. Middle linebackers are not as valued as, say, outside linebackers at the NFL level.

With a strong front four like ND has most Mike linebackers are going succeed. Unfortunately, when a strong front four get exposed by a great OL it makes the Mike's job extremely difficult. Regardless, Te'o is a very good MLB and should do well at the next level.

He is the most decorated single season player in college football history and while this is no guarantee of NFL success it does make me think that he will be fine at the next level.

I like him (not his friggin school). He had a bad night last week, but I see good things for him on Sundays.

I have said before that that Te'o would be an average LB in the SEC and the BCSNC proved that might be questionable too.
It is easy too look fantastic against weaker competition. It is what you can do against better teams that matters.

He might be pretty good in the NFL. Kiper is covering his base some after predicting Notre Dame to win.
Let''s be honest here, though. A lot of LBs have looked bad against an offensive line like Alabama has. Some of it was the DL not really getting any push so that it fell to the LBs and safeties to make the plays.
He's a good size and has decent speed and has instinct. He should be in the 1st round. I still think Luke Kuechly is better than him, though. No offense.
