Booth injury may force Luongo deal

08:10 AM ET 01.15 | The hole Vancouver had on the second line, with the absence of Ryan Kesler, cratered a bit further on Monday. [And] it may take a Roberto Luongo trade to fill it. A groin injury to winger David Booth has the Canucks in the unenviable position of possibly starting the season Saturday without not only injured centre Ryan Kesler, but Booth as well. That's two-thirds of their second line. ... If Booth's injury is serious, it's a safe bet that general manager Mike Gillis -- if he wasn't already -- will be seeking a player who could step in and play second-line minutes in any trade for Luongo. [Alain Vigneault] suggested Monday that depending on what transpires between now and Saturday's opener against the Anaheim Ducks, he might have to adjust how his team plays.

BWAHAHAHA

No, not wrong at all.

I am not familiar with the VCR branch of the Sun universe, but if they are as credible as the TOR mothership, well, this is bird cage liner material.

No way in h-e-doubletoothpicks Gillis will get a 2nd liner for Luongo.

Maybe there idea of a second line is Bozak and Kadri?

This is exactly why I always ask for a table.

wow, they're ready to push the panic buttom quite early in Vancity. Booth tweaked his groin and Kesler should be back in not too long. Why make a panic move? The team is still deep and should still be able to win the division easily.

When I read the headline, my first thought was that one of their broadcasters was injured. Couldn't figure out why that would lead to a trade.
