05:27 PM ET 01.15 | Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams was one of the most coveted free agents this summer, and re-signing with the Nets appeared to be a major coup for the franchise. But Williams has yet to live up to the promise of his past seasons. He's not afraid to admit it. Williams told ESPN New York that he doesn't think he's played to an All-Star level despite being third in NBA fan voting behind Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo, according to the last returns. Williams could very well make the All-Star team because of coaches votes, but his numbers don't quite back up his expectations. This season, Williams holds averages of 16.8 points and 7.7 assists per game and he's shooting just 40.9 percent from the floor. "I just think there's people playing better than me," he said.

Full disclosure: D Will is one of my favorite players and I think he is one of the top point guards in the league.
Even in this down year that he is having, he probably still deserves to be an all star because there aren't other point guards in the East playing better. Rondo and maybe Jrue Holiday? Kyrie Irving is playing better for sure, but his team doesn't even have 10 wins.
