Panthers could receive $125 million from Charlotte

06:21 PM ET 01.15 | The Carolina Panthers may soon receive $125 million towards upgrading Bank of America Stadium from the city of Charlotte, according to the Charlotte Observer. City Council voted 7-2 during a close session Monday night to endorse the proposal to help significantly offset the cost of stadium renovations, which are projected to exceed $200 million. The council is expected to eventually hold a vote on the proposal in an open session.

wow, that's really awesome for all the people that can't afford to go see the Panthers or don't give a damn about football. Think of how many jobs 125 million dollars can create, instead its going to a construction deal for someone's vanity project.

Richardson is just playing the same game every other sports owner is playing with their respective cities. Though, $125M looks like a steal for the city compared to how far others are bending over for their teams (e.g. Colts, Vikings, Dolphins, etc)
