07:53 AM ET 01.16 | Though Spurs coach Gregg Popovich canceled a morning practice session, at least one hoop at the team's facility would likely will be in use. Vowing to solve a rare shooting slump, team captain Tim Duncan promised to get up "as many shots as I can" as he prepares for a Wednesday rematch at the AT&T Center against the Grizzlies. ... "It's just one of those things," Duncan said of his 18-for-49 (36.7 percent) shooting in the past four games. "It's January. Something's gone wrong, some mechanics and just not feeling good. I'm just trying to work through it, get up as many shots as possible and try to start making them in the game again and see what happens." Duncan has scored only 46 points in the four games.

Basketball is tough on the joints. Duncan's style (low energy/non-high flier) translates well to a lengthy career. Hopefully he'll get his mojo back.

Timmy was never a high riser, or quick mover. He should be a little worn, but still go to go. He'll bounce back. Anyone using the glass as much as he does when he shoots should have no problem getting it back on track. Wonder at his age, has he had his eyes checked? That square on the backboard may be closer than it appears!

And one of the few guys in the NBA with class.

At his age he probably just can't get to his spots on the court as easy as he used to, and with the season wearing on he may be getting a bit tired. Save it for the playoffs!

More players should go to the bank more like Timmy. Bank shots and floaters are the toughest to block.

I'd expand Floaters to include any hookshot, and in a similar match-up they are impossible to block. (Maybe Manute Bol blocks Muggsy Bogue's Sky Hook, but it's a goaltend half the time)

Decided to sue the Lakers since I haven't seen their best players play yet ;)

Biggest shocker of this article is learning that Duncan has mechanical parts. That dude always did look robotic to me. "I am Tim Duncan2000, BEE BOO BEE, take me to your baseline"
