08:05 AM ET 01.16 | Time has not yet fully healed a wound for Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton. The Marlins, who spent $190 million in the winter of 2011 to build a championship team for their new ballpark, turned around and dumped $242 million since July. Stanton was so incensed with the Marlins' trade with the Toronto Blue Jays in November -- dumping All-Star shortstop Jose Reyes, pitchers Mark Buehrle and Josh Johnson, along with catcher John Buck and infielder Emilio Bonifacio - he sent out a tweet for his bosses to see: "Alright, I'm [ticked] off!!! Plain & Simple." Stanton, when asked Tuesday if he's still angry, said, "Yeah, it's tough. You deal with what you got. You realize that's the business side."

When you finish 29 games out of first Stanton, you should be tick off at yourself and the players who were traded, and apologized to the fans for that lackluster performance in 12.

Don't worry, Giancarlo. You are arbitration eligible next year which means you will be wearing a different uniform before the 2014 season.

It was certainly through no fault of his.

It still irks me, and I have no stake in the matter whatsoever other than pride in the sport.

Dude, just bang your HRs and keep slugging over .600, your big bucks from a better team will be coming soon if you stay on track.

He needs to stay healthy this year and play 155 games.

Do you mean because the Marlins will trade him after he is granted some big salary by the arbitration process? The arbitration process deals with his salary obligations by his current team. They own his rights.

Hopeful the Cardinals are eyeing him as Carlos Beltrans' replacement for 2014 or even @ the 2013 trade deadline. Can't blame the guy for being aggravated with the Florida situation.

business are business and that's but it,,stanton can jump and throw a fist to the air but nothing he can do about it,,,

January 16, 2013  05:14 PM ET

It's all business, that's all MLB is, it's not the National Past Time, that's little league, not the pros. The Pros aren't men playing a game, they're men getting paid stupid money to do something that many of us wish we could still do. It's just rich people investing in the advertising and promotional items revenue. That's all MLB is, a check.

likewise is a shame indeed, but someday the comissioner should wakeup from his letarged situation,,,

Oscar Taveras is Beltran's replacement. He's one of the best hitting prospects in the minor leagues. Some scouts consider him the best hitting prospect in the minors. I'd much rather have Stanton than any prospect, but someone is going to get raped to land Stanton. It won't be the Cardinals.

Taveres is in center in the minors, but he won't be there in the majors. He'll be in right for the Cardinals in 2014.

Wiseup: The only parks Stanton will play in this year will be when the marlins go on the road, or in Miami when the marlins are at home.

wiseup: If Loria was going to trade stanton he would have done it by now.
