Blue Jackets court goaltending controversy

08:11 AM ET 01.16 | With the acquisition of Sergei Bobrovsky this past summer and Steve Mason returning in the final year of his contract, Todd Richards has himself a goaltending competition in Columbus. But here's the burning question on everyone's mind: where does that leave the two goaltenders, and does one or the other have the inside track on Saturday night's start in Nashville? Richards isn't ready to appoint a starting netminder, but he's encouraged by what has transpired. "Right now, I don't see much separation," Richards said of his goalies. "I think Bobrovsky having come in and played games (in the KHL), I expected a smoother transition and that's exactly what we've got. With Steve, I wasn't sure and to be quite honest with you I'm extremely pleased with what I've seen."

Yes.

With the talent (or lack of) in front of the goalie, they'd need to create a brick wall in front of the net to keep pucks out.

Is there any other kind?

Won't make a difference who's in net if the defense isn't strong enough. Either one of these guys is going to get bombed. Still dislike the Flyers trading Bob.

Or disgruntled Texans fan.

Mason and Bob, throw em both to the wolves and hope one of them makes it? If there were any fans remaining in Columbus, there won't be at the end of the season.

LMAO. You're the best Cowboy fan, Otis. And that's coming from a Redskins fan! Good grief, I'm getting soft.
