08:12 AM ET 01.16 | Having played his entire NHL career for one coach prior to signing in Minnesota, Ryan Suter has some habits to break. Suter caught himself screwing up drills during the first practice Sunday, reverting to the Predators' system when he should have been executing the Wild's. He felt sore, the kind of sore that is normal for September, but not for January. He just felt out of sorts. "Obviously it's going to take some time adjusting to the system," Suter said. "I'm having a hard time -- not a hard time, but it's just different. The system will come. I think it's just -- I'm not feeling comfortable with myself right now. Just got to get that going. So much time off and right back into it."

Considering their relative playoff success, methinks MIN would be wise to adopt the NSH system.

Problem solved.

It didn't take long for the excuses to start rolling in.

I know this is horrible, but I would love to see them drop all that scratch on those two players, and watch them fall on their faces. Got nothing against those two players...talking about the franchise!

It isn't horrible.

And it might be different if they were actually worth all that coin.

I was glad Suter spurned Detroit. He is going to miss Weber on his side.

C'mon gents lay off the Wild. What has the franchise ever done to any of your favorite teams other than allow them to give them a beatdown. As a Wild fan, im not delusional, itll be tough to make the playoffs and be successful this year as it will for any team after this lockout but dont fault a team for trying to get better. There are 40+ games to make a mark and this is now a sprint and not a marathon. Who knows how teams are going to react?
