Seahawks shopping Matt Flynn

05:45 PM ET 01.16 | When Matt Flynn signed a three-year, $26 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks last offseason, he was viewed as the presumptive starter for a team dangerously thin at quarterback. Then came rookie Russell Wilson, whose breathless rise transformed the Seahawks' offense this season and kept Flynn on the bench from start to finish. Seattle has a nice problem under center, but Seahawks general manager John Schneider acknowledges Flynn might be shopped in the coming months. "I'd be lying to you if I told you that we wouldn't be listening to people," Schneider told KIRO-AM on Wednesday.

I would think so. No sense having Flynn sit on the bench. Maybe the Seahawks can get a 3/4 round draft pick for him!!!

Who would want this guy? Seriously? Only people I could see desperate enough would be the Cardinals perhaps. I think I could compete with those two limp rods for the spot.

You can (but please don't) say that again. 3 limp rods.

I would love to see that happen but I expect he is going to want a chance to compete for a starting job. I figure that he'd be a great fit in KC where Reid runs a similar offense to what Flynn played in in Green Bay

Da Jets, they can have Sanchez!

Hey, dope, several teams were after him last offseason. Several teams still need a QB.
Kansas City, Jacksonville, Arizona, and the Jets need a QB.
Buffalo, Cleveland, Oakland, Philadelphia and maybe Tennessee may need an upgrade too.
Expect Alex Smith, Flynn and maybe Michael Vick to be hot properties for those teams.
Heck, even Sanchez might be wanted in a place such as KC or Zona.

Agreed. Romo is going into the last year of his contract. JJ needs to have a good back up and/or replacement for him.

Why would he agree to be traded and then get his contract reworked (reduced)?
Only a fool would agree to that, or think it was a possibility.

Not at all. If he believes he can be a starter, why not agree to lower your current salary, get traded to a team where you will start or think you have a fairly decent shot at starting soon. Play well, earn a much bigger and longer contract than the one he currently has.
Not only is it a possibility, but it makes more sense money wise as long as he believes he can produce.

The Cowboys could wait until he's released, which he will be. (Teams don't trade for backup QBs with 2 years left of a 3 year contract at $26 Million). The Cowboys could then sign Flynn (who is younger than Romo, has more upside, would potentially win more games, and almost HAVE to win more playoff games! than Romo and be a long term solution). Then cut Romo, and actually plan for a future which involves winning more than 50% of your games. With any luck at all, the Cowboys will not trade any picks and draft Chance Warmack this coming April. Have Flynn throwing to Dez, who has improved greatly, and the Cowboys don't look too bad.

See? ANY blog about the NFL can be hijacked into a Cowboys post. Flynn and the Cowboys have nothing to do with each other (as of now), but what are we all talking about? The Cowboys.
(Except for creeps, nobody knows what the eff he's talking about)!

Wouldn't it be awesome if Lovie Smith signed with the Cardnals? After all, he is who the Cardinals already know he is. The Cardinals have seen him before. And (if he signed on to be Head Coach), he could be the coach of the team that lets other teams off the hook!
Whoops, nothing there about the Cowboys!
