06:41 PM ET 01.16 | The Phoenix Suns don't appear like they're going to find themselves much more success with the current roster. A 13-27 start to the season has built a bleak picture, and now head coach Alvin Gentry might be looking toward next year despite his own contract ending after this one. On Tuesday, he told USA Today that discussions might start ramping up regarding playing for development rather than playing for wins. Halfway through the season, it might be time to start giving second-year forward Markieff Morris, former No. 4 overall pick Wesley Johnson and rookie point guard Kendall Marshall more opportunities. "I think you've got to do it (by) saying that obviously this season isn't going the way we anticipated, and now we're in a situation where we've got to start looking to the future," Gentry told USA Today. "And if we're looking to the future, we've got to play young guys and get them in a situation where we figure out exactly what we have for the future, and see if they can show improvement for the next 30 games or whatever it ends up being that we decide to do this."

Is Wesley Johnson a bust? Kinda like Derrick Williams?

Minnesota truly sucks at drafting good players.

2010: Instead of Johnson they could have drafted at #5 Cousins #7 Monroe #10 Paul George #18 Bledsoe.

2011: #3 Kanter #9 Walker (they got Rubio so w/e) # Klay Thompson #13-14 Morris twins #15 Kawhi Leonard #17 Shumpert #22 Faried

I'm sickened by the thought of the team tanking, to be quite honest. However, had it not been for the damn foolhardy moves and moronic owner sabotaging the team and setting them up for failure, we wouldn't be in this discussion now or ever. While I'm all for giving the young players some run and seeing what they can do, I'm not for doing it for the sake of "development" (a better lotto spot) over winning. Despite the doubters, this team DOES have some good players on it. The question is, after this season, how many of them will still be on the roster?

In relation to tanking... I don't see any player in the upcoming draft who's shown to be utterly head and shoulders above all others. There are no Tim Duncans to be had, so why bother with something that's so heinous?
