06:44 PM ET 01.16 | Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge wants to wear the red, white and blue. He told Fox Sports Florida's Chris Tomasson that he'd "definitely" be interested in playing for Team USA in the 2014 World Cup in Spain. The 6'10 forward has been a candidate to make the USA teams in the 2010 World Championships and the 2012 London Olympics, but each time, Aldridge had to step away from the game. First, he cancelled his plans because of personal matter. Attempting to make the Olympic squad, he injured his hip and that required surgery. "You know, things just happen," Aldridge said of dropping out in 2010. "I had some very personal things to my heart. So I had to do it. And last time (2012) I got hurt."

QUOTE(#1):

He probably realizes that he may never win a ring so it makes sense that he tries to bring home the gold.

To early to predict that. I doubt he'll be on the Blazers much of his career. Hes got a lot of talent and depending on the situation with the team and coach hes around he can be a superstar and soon.
