No leader - not even Helfrich - in replacing Kelly

08:17 AM ET 01.17 | Admitting that the timing was less than ideal, Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens insists the program is moving on in the wake of Chip Kelly's somewhat stunning decision to leave. Many believe offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich to be Kelly's likely successor but Mullens said no decisions have been made and that he plans to conduct an extensive search. ... Mullens denied that Helfrich is the leader to get the job stating, "I don't think there's any leader." But maintaining Kelly's up-tempo offensive philosophies is likely the best way to sustain the program's momentum. Defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti, who just concluded his 20th year at Oregon, has been a candidate in the past for other jobs and could be so at Oregon.

The way things are going with Lame at SCw, he should be available by the end of next season if not before.

I am worried about Quinn to the Jags now that they have hired the Seahawk DC as Quinn was his Dline coach.

I still think that Chris Petersen would be a prefect fit for Oregon. he stated before that he likes the area and he was an assit Coach at Eugene a while back!!

You're probably more right than you think!!! I can't see Pat Haden putting up much longer with LK, especially if USC keeps losing!! I just don't know how all this "Scholarship limit" thing play out in Haden's mind???

Chris Peterson would make a great fit at Oregon
