08:05 AM ET 01.17 | Yes, Kenneth Faried is on a roll, but it may not be enough to land him the ultimate in-season honor. Prior to [Faried's] fourth double-double in six games -- 21 points and 11 rebounds against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday -- Greg Anthony said on NBA-TV that the Nuggets power forward should be an all-star reserve. ... [Entering Wednesday, Faried] had a 19.33 player efficiency rating, which is 30th-best among players who average at least 29 minutes per game. Denver is 24-17 and has only one more road game left in January. Before Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Nuggets coach George Karl said, "We could have a very good record" at the all-star break, "but I haven't heard one name mentioned (for all-star consideration). Anywhere."

He needs to prove himself. There's lots of players in this league that have been proving themselves consistently over the years but haven't smelled an all star locker room sweat. Jamal Crawford is prime example. It's an all STAR game - not solid players game. Even Afflao is way better than this Fairy guy... come back next year dreadlock... Stern sent me to tell you your services are not needed at the all star game. Maybe if he was a Knick my feelings will be different :)

I a huge Faried fan, but he's not AS yet. Develop a dependable midrange J like LaMarcus Aldridge and he is in like Flynn.

I don't think he will ever be an all star. His game and Omer Asik game is quite similiar. It's just that Asik is a way better rebounder! I think he will always be an average player.
