08:13 AM ET 01.18 | Javier Baez will arrive with great expectations in Chicago, and the public is watching. [Baez] will get a chance to line up with current and former players Friday during the opening ceremony of the Cubs Convention, sealing his status as one of the faces of the future. ... [Jason McLeod] said the young players are getting a crash course in how to be responsible on and off the field, which includes dealing with "the media, dealing with social media and watching what they put on Twitter." ... One low-level Cubs prospect deleted his Twitter account this week with no explanation. The same player was instructed by management earlier this winter to delete an inappropriate tweet. McLeod acknowledged the Cubs brass monitors what its players say on social media.

I thought about using twitter then I just went up on top of the building and started shouting into the air instead.

Yes, I'm sure all teams, and all music and movie producers are closely monitoring the tweets of their players and performers. They would be stupid to not monitor them for PR nightmares brewing.

Agreed...
I'd have my own Twitter handle - but I don't want to be disappointed by having Zero followers...
On Topic - I'm sure all teams monitor to some extent - and at a minimum they hear about it when a player tweets something incredibly stupid.
