Unsigned Stars' Benn in danger of missing opener

They are concerned, they are trying to negotiate the "right" deal, and yes he very much could miss the first game. That is the business end of the sport that caused the lockout in the first place. It's frustrating, but it is just business. Pierre Lebrun reported [Thursday] that Benn is looking for a short term deal. Is the issue separating that sides term or money? I think, in a perfect world, he would like a three-year for $5-6 million. That would allow him to get paid now and then hit a home run when he is close to unrestricted free agency.

Dallas would look even more foolish of they let this contract fall by the boards, they need to get this done quickly... or he might not just miss the opener but much more.

Everything I heard yesterday indicates that they are close... obviously the Stars want a 5-6 year deal.
I doubt he makes the opener... but I don't hear much that would indicate he will miss much time.

Don't worry Otis Joe will get it done for you and cash won't be a problem. Gaglardi has lots of it is and willing to spend it to get players to Dallas and keep the ones he wants. My guess is Benn excepts a Skinner, Seguin, Hall type deal. He would be crazy not to take it.

Actually Bobby Loo sucks worse in October than in May hard to believe but it's true November to March he puts up monster(maybe not a good adjective to describe goalies anymore) numbers

I agree Dallas and the Habs and Avs took a chance that the UFA age would rise and didn't sign their RFA's (Benn PK and Ryan Reilly) Well they gambled and lost time to pony up the money or move them
