Ramirez in WBC should worry Dodgers

Dodgers infielder Hanley Ramirez made the Dominican Republic national team for the World Baseball Classic on Thursday, and that's bad news. That's unnecessary trouble. Understand, the Dodgers insist that they are going into spring training with Ramirez as their starting shortstop. Anyone who watched him struggle defensively in his return to short with the Dodgers has to be justifiably concerned. Or plain frightened. ... [The] Dodgers wanted him to play short during winter ball. But Ramirez suffered an early minor shoulder injury playing in Puerto Rico and ended up a designated hitter, not playing short or anywhere in the field. And now he'll potentially miss most of spring training.

You can only hope for US players to show that kind of love for their great country, and they should. Heart should always come be4 money. Clubs pay, but your country is what gave you the strength and opportunities to get to that respective club!

I actually think it's pretty cool some of these guys show enough pride to play for their countries. I wish more younger players in the USA, like Mike Trout or Bryce Harper for example were willing to do the same. It???s no different than NHL or NBA players participating in the Olympics. I'll admit it could be potentially dangerous for pitchers, but for position players the risk is very minimal.

that's the high risk every player runs by playing in the WBC games, the dodgers knew it and every other team is aware about those freaky injuries,,,

take the money from the stupid Americans ? The US has players from the majors in it too don't they? Those asian and latin players is what has made the sport become what it is today, more competitive, more audiences, etc. I don't see the "stupid americans" complain there... and yes, the country is above that, plus the MLB is probably the biggest sponsor of the WBC, so i doubt he or anyone is obliged not to play. So many arguments against your response it's not even funny! Oh and the players are insured btw!
