03:59 PM ET 01.18 | News Corp. is changing its Speed Network to a national sports network tentatively called Fox Sports 1 later this year. Programming from Fox Soccer could find a home on this new channel. Rebranding would be tough as many cable providers may fight back, especially considering Fox Soccer is usually on a high-tier channel package. The news comes on the heels of a December announcement by Rupert Murdoch that his company will be restructuring. This was partially in an effort to keep the newspaper side of the company afloat as print media becomes less and less vital. The company is set to split into two pieces with the newspapers, other publishing assets, educational business, and some Australian television on the smaller side of the business and still holding the News Corp. name. The more profitable side that includes the movie studios and television networks will now be called the Fox Group.

Well unless FSC can find something to replace the BPL, there won't be much need for it..
