Did personality conflicts lead to Rob Ryan's firing?

04:09 PM ET 01.18 | Earlier in the month, the Dallas Cowboys fired defensive coordinator Rob Ryan who immediately said he'd not be out of a job very long. Some reporters took that as a sign, and erroneously reported that he'd been hired as the new defensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams. This prompted Ryan to let the world know he was on a beach and nowhere near St. Louis and had, at that point, not been contacted by anyone from the Rams. It appears that has now changed, as the Rams and Ryan have officially met with one another regarding Ryan coming aboard as Jeff Fisher's defensive coordinator in St. Louis. Many believe Ryan was ousted in Dallas because of his boisterous personality, one that may have clashed with the totalitarian rule of Jerry Jones. However, Jones cites two specific losses as the reason Ryan was fired. Dallas' week 2 loss to the Seahawks and their week 4 thumping by the Bears were cited as reasons Ryan was let go, as both games featured a completely healthy yet non-existent defense.

Rob is definitely not a conformist.

Old Jerry cites a week 2 and week 4 loss as the reason he was sacked. So what if they made the playoffs, all would be forgiven then? The Cowboys have my pity!!

JJ and RR? Say it ain't so. Two more laid back, calm and engaging personalities you're not likely to meet.

Dang, a minute apart, and we both came out with "say it ain't so."

It must be true. Great minds do think alike.

Why does this guy continue to get hired anywhere? Look at his performance to this point in his career and illustrate to me where his performance is worthy of him not being out of a job for "5 minutes" or whatever his off the cuff comment was.

Well based on the particulars, I'd have to say JJ got a little personel with him, leading to a personality conflict!!!

Good riddance to bad trash, Nothing good has ever come from Buddy Ryan. Rob and Rex are definitely from the shallow end of the gene pool.

Even Cowboy Stadium isn't large enough to hold those two egos.
JJ had to get rid of Rob so he could let his self-esteem have room to continue to expand.

QUOTE(#18):

Rob Ryan is a disgusting slob uncouth un-bathed and under dressed. Coaches need to look well groomed and clean as they reflect their team's image. Rob Ryan belongs under a bridge or collecting cans somewhere not on National TV looking like some slob. Clean up your act Ryan and take a bath. and Haircut might help.

Where do you get this sterio typical pablum ?
