05:51 PM ET 01.19 | The Chicago Bears have hired Mel Tucker as their new defensive coordinator, replacing the departing Rod Marinelli. Tucker spent the past four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where his units have not accumulated the greatest numbers. However, Tucker is still widely respected among coaching circles, and should do better in Chicago with better talent. Tucker is the first major hire by new Bears coach Marc Trestman, who has a lot to prove coming into the NFL from the CFL.
