06:27 PM ET 01.19 | The Carolina Panthers promoted quarterbacks coach Mike Shula to offensive coordinator, giving him his first coordinator level job in the NFL since 1999. Shula takes over for Ron Chudzinski, who left to take the head coaching job with the Browns. The team also interviewed Hue Jackson and Pat Shurmur for the position, but elected to hire the internal candidate.

Something about these Kids of High Profile Coaches...

You got Mikey here... Jim Mora's kid was horrible... Brian Schottenheimer never quite got it going as a GM...

Is there a Trend here?

You got Shanahan's kid - but he's only on the staffs of his Old Man and his Old Man crony Kubiak.

Word is Shanny's kid is decent. Mora's kid is making a comeback at UCLA. Jury's still out on Shula.
