10:24 AM ET 01.20 | While the 49ers were en route to Georgia, the news broke that Michael Crabtree was questioned by San Francisco police about a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in a San Francisco hotel sometime early last Sunday after the 49ers' game against the Packers. General manager Trent Baalke said that the team was aware of the allegation and that Crabtree had fully cooperated with the authorities. While the most important thing is making sure that justice prevails, there's also a football side to the development. The 49ers have not directly said Crabtree will play Sunday, though it seems likely since the investigation is ongoing. It's impossible to predict how the 49ers and Crabtree will be affected by the news. The young player is the most important receiver on the team and Colin Kaepernick's security blanket. He is vital to the team's success. And Saturday his face was plastered all over the television for all the wrong reasons.

Distraction...

I hope this is not what it sounds like for both party's sake. High profile athletes need to stick to the policy that if they don't know the person and have no relationship with that person they should just walk away. If he's innocent of the alleged assault this is just another example of what kinds of targets these young men are.

If he's not behind bars, he will. He should have known better than to fall into the trap though. Every team has the gold diggers following the team bus looking for a quick buck. It's like the lion breaking one off from the herd!

Yeah it seems that most people that comment on FN feels that way, that a person is, "guilty until proven innocent". I try not to pre judge anyone!!!

USA Today had an article today about liars and forgiveness in American culture. There were photos of Bill Clinton, Bernie Madoff, Lance Armstrong, and Manti Te'o. I know as an Irish fan my comments will likely be seen as biased for Te'o, but give me a break. We don't know all the details and we lump him in with those folks?

I have no use of a person whom thinks he a GOD just because he plays sports, and can have his way with women by laying hands them.Just like those boys that raped that girl in Ohio.Hope that the league will not let him play.
