07:30 PM ET 01.20 | This morning Miami Heat owner Micky Arison announced that the team has signed former Denver Nugget Chris Andersen to a 10-day contract. Andersen worked out with the Heat earlier this season, and with the lingering rebounding issues the Heat have decided to give "Birdman" a chance. We will have to wait and see if Andersen can crack the rotation, as well as help the team resolve the rebounding problem.

signs of desparation.... why didnt the Lakers go after this guy???

This is a good pick up. Another role player that's active on the boards, the Lakers could learn from this in their rebuilding efforts.

Its a good move

Depends on the condition the Bird's in. Denver not wanting him tells me he's not there to be had...

Sometimes a players success or failure depends on being placed in the right situation. This should be a good opportunity for the Birdman. However, I also think if he was ready, he wouldn't be available. We'll see.

Spo has to give him minutes though.
Harrellson should not have been cut, he hardly got any minutes.
Varnado should not be resigned, either should have kept Pittman or signed Jerome Jordan to a 10 day along with Birdman.
