Lightning rod Kadri turning Leafs fans early

08:27 AM ET 01.21 | Has Nazem Kadri finally arrived? The way [Kadri] performed at camp and played in the Leafs' opener in Montreal, it looks like he's here to stay. That's great for the young man and for anxious Leafs fans who have been waiting for the 2009 seventh overall pick to blossom into an everyday NHL player. ... [The] reason why Kadri has taken a step in the right direction this season has more to do with his maturity as a player, and not because new coach Randy Carlyle is his new best buddy. ... [Mistakes] are going to happen and it's inevitable that Carlyle will say something negative, just like Wilson did. Hey, even the gentlemanly Dallas Eakins, the coach of the Marlies, knocked Kadri at times when he wasn't up to snuff.

One game against a non-playoff team and he's the next Darryl Sittler!

He has skill, nobody's ever denied that. His work ethic just always sucked - probably because Wilson and Burke handled him about as well as the Falcons handle a 3-score lead.

Nice ! No doubt ! That 4th qtr defense of theirs is somewhat "light"

deinitely. I think he'll be fine, but the real test will be to see how he stacks up in 3-4 games.

He may not be Darryl but without the twin millstones, Burkie and Rotten Ronnie, at least he now has a chance to reach his potential.

I liked how they handled SF, but they seem to have a phobia about losing their games in the last minutes.

"..... Kadri turning Leafs fans early...."

Is he turning them "on" or "off"

Sounds like a prototypical Leafs player. Should keep Leafs fans on the verge of a nervous break down for years to come.

I watched a little of him, he seems fast and quick, maybe a load off his shoulders.

Couple of bad turnovers by Matt Ryan sealed their fate. I was surprised at how well they played San Fran to that point.

Yep. It looked like they shot their wad in the first half, built up a big lead and tried to coast their way across the finish line. Can't do that in pro sports.

Ryan's shoulder separation probably didn't help much, bt SF didn't quit and played a great final 3 quarters.

It was good to see hockey again this weekend, not good hockey yet, but it will come over time

QUOTE(#16):

San Fran deserves to be there. Baltimore too. It's going to be a great game between two balanced teams and we should all be thankful for that.On the other hand, god please god let the Niners win. No North American sports team that I actually like has won since 1994 (their last SB) and damnit I deserve to smile.

LMAO. I don't care who wins I'll be happy. I can't stand either Harbaugh so I'm gonna like watching the loser cry about the officiating and the winner claim his parents never liked him as much as they did his brother. The handshake afterwards should be more fun the game.
