02:44 PM ET 01.21 | Tony Gonzalez, without much question the greatest tight end in the history of football, is likely ready to walk off into the sunset. After losing the NFC Championship Game to the San Francisco 49ers, 28-24, on Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons pro bowler reiterated that this was probably the last game he would ever play.

It's a shame. They could have/should have won that game and sent him out on top.

But was I the only who noticed that he disappeared in the 2nd half. Either they weren't calling his number or Baltimore made the adjustments at halftime.

If Baltimore's adjustments stopped Tony Gonzalez, several hundred miles away, they should just give the Lombardi trophy to Baltimore right now

What a shame. I'd love for him to come back for another season. At least he did get a chance to win in the post-season, and he'd be leaving the game relatively healthy.

Good luck, Tony.

A hell of a good run...

If he, Ray-Ray, Reed and Moss all retire this offseason, that is one hell of a HOF class in 5 years.

Very true. But I see Moss playing a couple of more years, he has shown he can definitely still play ball. Depending on Reed's health he may also be back next season.

Give it up Tony. Your done. Enjoy life now. have a ball. See you in the Hall.

Nice! My bad.........but I'm still blinded and punch drunk by the thought of these 2 teams playing in the Super Bowl. It will be the first one I won't watch.
