02:25 PM ET 01.21 | The Atlanta Falcons fell just short of making the Super Bowl on Sunday, falling 28-24 to the San Francisco 49ers. The Atlanta offense stalled badly in the second half, and two turnovers helped to kill their chances of winning. Quarterback Matt Ryan spoke with the media after the game, and said that those second half turnovers were a large reason why the Falcons will be sitting at home instead of playing for a championship on Feb. 3.

He's right. Not surprisingly, he didn't try to make excuses. A good leader will own up to those types of mistakes.

I agree. He's a damn fine QB & he had a fantastic season. Atlanta is is in good hands going forward with this kid.
He made two mistakes yesterday that stopped drives and that will obviously overshadow his otherwise fine play. Nice to hear an athlete "man up" instead of making excuses.

I actually thought he was going to get it done at the end of the game.

That's only one side of the story, their defense did very little to stop the Niners offense in the second half, they left the building at Half Time! Kapernick ate their lunch and rose to the occasion!

I did too. I hope his left shoulder isn't badly injured. He played the last half a quarter with a separated shoulder.
