Odd man out when Rose returns

08:05 AM ET 01.22 | When Derrick Rose returns, who will get the short end of the minutes in Tom Thibodeau's rotation -- Kirk Hinrich or Nate Robinson? Honestly, I don't know if Derrick will be cleared for a heavy workload this season and I can't say if Nate will be back next season. Hypothetically though, if there's no overly restrictive minutes limit by season's end, let's pencil Derrick in for 30 a night. ... I'd assume that Kirk would get that handful of minutes, as well as serving as Derrick's primary backup, the role he was signed for, as many people seem to forget. I'd think that Kirk would play the bulk of the remaining 15-plus minutes per game at point guard, with Nate on the fringe of the rotation, not playing some nights.

Really a moot point since he won't be returning this year.

I think he will be back after the all-star game he wouldn't be running around at home games if he was not coming back soon.
Why would the club tease the fans like that?

After seeing what happened to RG 3, I think the Bulls will be very cautious with his return.

Rubio's come back has not been the greatest either.
Who is closer to a return Shumpert or Rose??

Not sure, but I can tell you first hand having to ACL surgeries, that the road to recovery is hard. Don't use Peterson as an example, he's a freak of nature. These guys think they work hard until you need to go through knee recovery process.

The bigger question is, will Chicago be "contenders" with a half-fit Rose?
If they are not, Rose should protect himself and maybe not play.

In a word - No.

He will be back any day/week now. With all the footage they've shown of his workouts he looks like he's pretty much ready to go now.

Agreed. Season will be a waste trying to adjust, save it for next year.
