Irish basketball season at a crossroads

08:12 AM ET 01.22 | Monday's 63-47 home loss to Georgetown doesn't look very good on Notre Dame's NCAA Tournament resume. The Irish scored just 21 points in the first 20 minutes, while shooting 30 percent and collecting three assists. It would be a concern if this was a young team trying to find its way through the meat grinder of the league schedule. It's a crisis for a veteran team old enough to know better. Attitude is at the core of the problem: A direct correlation between defense (the Hoyas shot 53 percent), rebounding (Georgetown dominated the glass 35-24), and "want to." ... Georgetown's 18-0 second-half run was the exclamation point on a disaster that leaves the Irish looking in the mirror and wondering where they go from here.
